Uno dei DJ più audaci e di ampio respiro dell’elettronica contemporanea: il suo fine orecchio e le sue rinomate abilità tecniche gli permettono di spaziare tra epoche, linguaggi e stili di mixaggio con una facilità e una fluidità abbaglianti. Le sue radici affondano nella cultura rave by UK, ma le sue selezioni allargano la rete, attirando nuove mutazioni di questa cultura nell’orbita house, techno e dancefloor oriented. I suoi set riescono in qualche modo a essere simultaneamente ponderati e rauchi, scivolando da ritmi spezzati laterali verso un irresistibile groove four-to-the-floor, o travolgendo con tangenti inaspettate, perle senza tempo e bizzarre armi segrete. Nel 2007, insieme a Pearson Sound e Pangaea, ha co-fondato Hessle Audio, etichetta con un’estetica straordinariamente focalizzata, spaziosa e percussiva. È difficile stabilire cosa renda distintivo ed emozionante il suo djing: un calore contagioso e un amore irrefrenabile per l’esplorazione, una scioltezza nel mescolare tracce strane e sconvolgenti con tagli dance inediti e nuove scoperte doppiate da tutto il mondo. Sono momenti, come li descrive lui stesso, che ti fanno sentire come se stessi venendo a prendere aria sul dancefloor. Già presente al Dancity Festival 2014, ha girato il mondo suonando in grandi festival e nei club di fama mondiale come Fabric e Panoramabar, o negli spazi intimi del Golden Pudel di Amburgo, dell’Air di Tokyo o del festival Freerotation. Ha suonato b2b con DJ come Jackmaster, Morphosis, Gerd Janson, Joy Orbison e DJ Nobu, oltre ad aver registrato mix per piattaforme rigorosamente indipendenti come The Trilogy Tapes e Truants, nonché per serie ampiamente acclamate come Resident Advisor e la longeva Essential Mix di BBC Radio 1. Il suo stile supera i confini nominali tra underground e mainstream: venerdì 8 dicembre il suo attesissimo ritorno a Foligno.

One of the most daring and wide-ranging DJs in contemporary electronica: his fine ear and renowned technical skills allow him to span eras, languages and mixing styles with dazzling ease and fluidity. His roots are in UK rave culture, but his selections cast a wide net, drawing new mutations of this culture into the house, techno and dancefloor oriented orbit. His sets somehow manage to be simultaneously thoughtful and raucous, sliding from side-splitting rhythms towards an irresistible four-to-the-floor groove, or sweeping in with unexpected tangents, timeless pearls and bizarre secret weapons. In 2007, together with Pearson Sound and Pangaea, he co-founded Hessle Audio, a label with an extraordinarily focused, spacious and percussive aesthetic. It’s hard to pin down what makes his DJing distinctive and exciting: an infectious warmth and an irrepressible love of exploration, a fluency in mixing strange, mind-blowing tracks with unreleased dance cuts and new discoveries dubbed in from around the world. These are moments, as he describes them, that make you feel like you are coming up for air on the dancefloor. Already present at the 2014 Dancity Festival, he has toured the world playing at major festivals and world-famous clubs such as Fabric and Panoramabar, or in the intimate spaces of Hamburg’s Golden Pudel, Tokyo’s Air or the Freerotation festival.
